Grade 8  We just completed a unit on Tobacco. Each boy created an educational tobacco game or a poem. The results were excellent.

Homework: No assignments for the weekend. Next unit will focus on addictions.

 Course Description The Teen Health Program is skills based, age appropriate, sequential, and
scientifically accurate. This program is replete with teacher-led, 
peer-led, and student-oriented activities.
 
Content Personal Health; Consumer & Community Health; Tobacco/Alcohol & other drugs;
Nutrition & Physical activity; Growth & Development; Diseases
 
Goals Students will comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention.
Students will demonstrate the ability to access valid health information.
Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health-enhancing behavior and reduce
         health risks decisions
Students will demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to
         enhance health
Students will demonstrate the ability to use goal setting and decision-making skills
         to enhance health
Students will demonstrate the ability to advocate personal, family and community health.

Attendance Excused absences are accepted
For every 3 unexcused absences will drop  a student to the next grade
Participation This is a very important factor to a students assessment
Missed test,quizzes  Must be made up at the very next Day on Campus
missed homework The student will be required to hand in past assignments At next class
Academic Dishonesty Cheating & plagrarism will be reported to our Directors. A zero will be the grade.
