2x/week, full year
Student-musicians will
grow in musicianship on their instruments while learning about music
through performance in band. Students participate in individual and
group performances on a daily basis. In-school, small-group lessons will
be provided year-long for all 5th and 6th grade
instrumentalists. With elements of music theory and history incorporated
throughout the year, students will discover that the music they are
actively participating in is an essential, interwoven element to
humanity.

Accurately perform a varied
repertoire of compositions displaying instrumental skill

Develop music literacy through
20 minutes of concentrated, daily at-home practice
♪
Listening to, analyze and describe
music and musical performances
♪
Learn to perform in an ensemble
setting: Pulse, Cues, Balance & Blend, and Intonation
♪
Study the relationship between the
music we rehearse and its cultural & historical context
♪
Draw connections between the music
we rehearse and other disciplines outside of music
