EXPECTATIONS AND SUPPLIES
1. I expect you to come to CLASS
with your lap top, your homework completed and your mind and mouth ready to
participate in discussion!
2.
HOMEWORK must include your name and date and may be neatly hand written
or word processed. If you word process, your work MUST be printed by the start
of class. Do not email me your work unless I
request it.

homework will be checked for thoughtfulness, neatness, and punctuality.
b.
I will check your homework according to this scale:

= assignment is completed
/+
= assignment is completed with extra effort and thought
/-
= assignment is completed poorly or is incomplete
c.on
major homework assignments like essays or projects, every day that your
homework is late WITHOUT a valid
e-mail or note from home, your grade will drop a half letter grade. For
example: B to B- to C+ to C etc.
3. GRADING
Your
trimester grade will be calculated as such:
a.
quiz scores averaged 1x
b.
chapter test scores averaged 2x
c.
essay assignment scores averaged 2x
d.
major projects graded according to a rubric
the
final score averaging 3x
e.
major unit tests (2-3 chapters) averaged 3x
f.
mini projects or presentations averaged 1x
Each
trimester will have a variety of the above assessments and not necessarily all
of them
4. SUPPLIES

lap top
b.You
may use a notebook or a binder with loose leaf and dividers for class notes.
Which ever you choose, must be used exclusively for history.
d. if you choose to take class notes on your laptop - you must create a "History" folder to hold all subsequent class notes and written homework assignments. All Class notes during a unit must be added to the same word document each day so that by the end of the unit all your notes are in one place. Your "History" folder needs to be saved to the server.
